Throughout the Bible, a consistent message resonates: the importance of waiting on God. Lamentations 3:25 emphasizes this beautifully: "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him." This verse reminds us that, even during the most challenging seasons, God has a good plan for us; patience is critical. Psalm 37:7 reinforces this concept, urging us to "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." It challenges us not to become envious of those who seem to succeed through unjust means but to remain steadfast in our trust.

However, what do we do when it seems like we've been waiting for an eternity? Whether for a job, a child, a new home, a spouse, or divine guidance, prolonged waiting can lead to frustration and desperation. It's crucial to guard against this desperation, as it often leads to unwise decisions. In moments of urgency, we might feel compelled to take matters into our own hands, drifting away from reliance on God’s timing and guidance.

Desperation can cloud our judgment and cause us to lean solely on our own understanding. Yet, as Proverbs 3:5-6 wisely advises, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." This scripture gives a gentle nudge back to faith, encouraging us to surrender our worries and acknowledge God’s sovereignty.

During these waiting seasons, it’s important to remember that God intends not to torment us. Instead, He may give us the necessary time to grow and develop in key areas of our lives before elevating us to our following blessings. Being built upon the solid rock of Christ means that God desires a firm foundation in us, and through patience, we can emerge stronger and more aligned with His will. In essence, God does not want us to remain in desperation; instead, He invites us to trust, grow, and wait with hopeful expectancy.

Isaiah 40:31

King James Version

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Lord help us to be doers of Your word so that we wait well🙏🏽🩷
