Not long ago, I had a conversation with a friend during which we were catching up. They expressed their eagerness to see progress in my life. I felt a twinge of disappointment, as I had never really showcased my hard work and efforts. I had been striving to improve myself spiritually, emotionally, financially, and even professionally, yet at times it felt like all my work was in vain. I honestly wanted to scream, “I AM STUCK!”

Have you ever found yourself in that all-too-familiar place of frustration? It’s as if you've poured your heart and soul into every effort, yet the only thing that others seem to notice is the glaring absence of results or noticeable changes in your life. Picture this: you’ve committed to losing weight, meticulously following every diet and exercise regimen available to you, yet each morning, the scale stubbornly refuses to budge, leaving you feeling defeated and disheartened.

Or consider the endless struggle of trying to save money, working diligently to set aside funds, only to be hit with unforeseen expenses that wreak havoc on your carefully laid plans. Then there’s the spiritual aspect—imagine attending church with unwavering dedication, fasting, praying earnestly, and engaging in daily devotionals while grappling with a profound sense of disconnect from God. It can be disheartening when you seek His divine presence but feel like your prayers echoing back unanswered. And let's not forget the entrapment some feel in their careers. You might have submitted countless job applications, each one filled with hope and optimism, yet somehow, you find yourself unchanged, still tethered to the same role, longing for growth and new opportunities.

It’s a difficult space to navigate, often marked by a silence that no one seems eager to acknowledge. After all, who posts their struggles or the reality of feeling stuck in a season of wilderness?

Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." In the Bible, there was a woman who struggled with a severe issue of bleeding for twelve years (Mark 5:25-34). She had spent all her money on doctors, yet none could heal her. I can only imagine her faith was challenged: How could she believe in God while going through such suffering? Nonetheless, she pressed on. Upon hearing that Jesus was near, she went to meet Him, believing that if she touched the hem of His garment, she would be healed. Her act of faith made her whole again.

Remember, no matter what you are facing, God is willing and able to meet your needs. Matthew 11:28 states, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

There are times in life when our blessings seem delayed. God is the author of time, and as Isaiah 60:22 reminds us, "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen." In those seasons when it feels like nothing is occurring, God is still at work. So do your part: keep fasting, praying, serving, and seeking His will.

One important lesson I’ve learned on this journey is to turn to God whenever I feel stuck or overwhelmed. Although people around me may offer their opinions and perspectives, God ultimately holds the true solutions and divine strategies that can help me regain my momentum and find my way forward once more.

I can relate. I am going into 14th year teaching. I truly feel stuck. Funny thing is each year I see a new teacher coming in, I'm always reminding them how they too can get stuck in this profession if he or she doesn't plan accordingly especially if he or she expresses a desire to not stay in this profession long. I guess I need to remind myself of those words. K.L
